Our Materials
Materials Designed for Longevity.
At Custom Fronts, sustainability isn’t just a trend—it’s a commitment to the future. It’s about choosing materials and finishes that stand the test of time, so we take less from the earth and give more to your home.
Birch Plywood: Stable, Durable, Resilient
Our Grade A+ FSC-certified birch plywood is blemish-free and built to perform. More stable than solid wood, which warps and moves, stronger than MDF, and resistant to swelling or warping, it stands the test of time in even the busiest kitchens.
Native European Hardwoods: Timeless and Local
We source FSC-certified oak, ash, walnut, and London plane from European forests. These woods are not only sustainable due to shorter transport distances but also chosen for their inherent strength, beauty, and timeless character.
Bamboo: Tough and Sustainable
Fast-growing, CO₂-negative, and incredibly strong, bamboo is a material for the future. Its layered construction ensures durability while adding a natural, sleek aesthetic to your space.
Forbo Linoleum
Made from flaxseed oil, natural and antistatic, this finish resists dust and dirt, develops a rich patina, and stays hygienic and clean. Carbon neutral.
Fenix
Made from mainly paper, carbon-neutral and nearly impervious to wear, its matte, soft-touch surface resists scratches, fingerprints and repels water.
Eco Laminate
Made from mainly paper, anti-fingerprint, anti-bacterial, and ultra-durable, it’s built to thrive in the heart of your home.
Longevity is the Ultimate Sustainability.
We reject MDF and plastic-filled lacquers, materials which weaken over time, challenging to maintain and repair, and are more harmful to the planet. Instead, we embrace craftsmanship, repairability, and durability. Our materials breathe, adapt, and endure—designing kitchens that stay beautiful, functional, and strong for generations.
This isn’t just about today’s kitchen. It’s about creating something that truly lasts.
