Our Story
BRING QUIET BEAUTY AND A DEEPER CONNECTION TO NATURE INTO YOUR HOME.
We make thoughtfully crafted kitchen fronts - made to last, made to feel, and made to fit IKEA.
Based in rural East Sussex, we are a small, female-led team of makers, designers, and artists. Working from a workshop surrounded by fields, rivers, and coastline, we design with nature and for it - creating kitchen fronts that reflect the beauty and simplicity of the world around us.
“People often find it hard to choose colours for their homes. My advice - just look out the window or go for a walk in nature. It’ll always be right.”
— Rachel, Remodelista Interview, 2017
WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
In 2016, Rachel and Ian, our founders - with decades of experience in joinery, fine art, and design - were shipping birch plywood furniture internationally when they discovered a perfectly preserved 1950s plywood kitchen in a mid-century bungalow.
It was a reminder of when kitchens were built to last, and to be kept.
We couldn’t find kitchens like this: a sustainable kitchen, which paired natural, organic materials with a clean-lined architectural style. Kitchens for those who loved the planet but didn’t want to compromise on aesthetics. A beautiful kitchen you wouldn’t throw away.
So we decided to make them.
Using the FSC certified beautiful birch ply we knew so well, we made Scandinavian-style kitchens, inspired by nature and built to last. And sustainable design is irrelevant if hardly anyone can access it - so we made it to fit IKEA, a simple system we had owned ourselves.
The result?
Kitchens for those who love design and the planet, and don’t want to have to choose one over the other.
